BAKU: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has approved two protocols aimed at enhancing cooperation with Belarus in the fields of veterinary medicine and plant protection, according to Trend. These protocols, signed on May 16, 2024, in Baku, update previous agreements established in 2007 between the two nations. According to Trend News Agency, the amendments focus on coordinating efforts between Azerbaijan and Belarus in maintaining animal and plant health. The protocols seek to improve veterinary control, disease prevention, and treatment, as well as enhance measures for plant pest and disease prevention. Additionally, they aim to promote scientific research in these areas and align joint measures with international standards. The newly approved amendments will designate the Food Safety Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan as the authorized body overseeing these efforts. The protocols are expected to incorporate additional terms to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in veterinary and plant protectio n fields.
