Baku:Trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and China is experiencing steady growth, with China being a key economic and trade partner for Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijan serving as China's largest trading partner in the South Caucasus.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, since 1995, China has invested $976 million directly into Azerbaijan, while Azerbaijani investments in China have reached $1.9 billion. Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, shared these details during a reception in Baku commemorating the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

Mustafayev emphasized the positive momentum in investment cooperation, highlighting that 455 Chinese companies are currently active in various Azerbaijani sectors such as industry, agriculture, transport, construction, trade, and services. In addition, nearly 50 joint projects are underway with major Chinese companies across different sectors.

He also underscored the significance of the transport and transit sector in the bilateral cooperation, noting that transit cargo volumes reached 272,600 tons in the first seven months of 2026, marking an 8 percent increase from the previous year. Efforts are ongoing to further expand trade ties and enhance the presence of Azerbaijani products in the Chinese market.
