Baku: Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis, met with Ahmed Bin Mohammad Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP), on June 22 to explore ways to enhance parliamentary ties.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting highlighted the role of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States in fostering relationships among Muslim countries and their legislative bodies. Both officials expressed confidence in the successful organization of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States in Baku, emphasizing that the event would contribute positively to the future activities of the OIC Parliamentary Union.

The discussion also focused on the cooperation between the Azerbaijani Parliament and the GCTP. The officials noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions plays a significant role in strengthening bilateral ties.
