Nairobi: Sultan Hajiyev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya, met with Amason Jeffah Kingi, the Speaker of the Kenyan Senate, on September 16 to discuss the advancement of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya. This meeting highlighted the ongoing efforts to foster cooperation between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Ambassador Hajiyev emphasized the significant progress in Azerbaijan-Kenya relations. He pointed out the formation of the Kenya-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group in the Kenyan Senate, as well as the establishment of an interparliamentary working group with Kenya in the Milli Majlis, as pivotal developments in strengthening bilateral relations.

Amason Jeffah Kingi acknowledged the growth of connections between the legislative bodies of both countries. He underlined the significance of Kenyan President William Samoei Ruto's visit to Baku for the World Urban Forum (WUF13) as a noteworthy event in their diplomatic engagement. Kingi also mentioned the potential benefits for both countries through collaboration within international organizations such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
