Baku:Lithuanian Ambassador K. Vaškelevicius engaged in discussions with Elchin Amirbayov, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Special Assignments, and his advisor, Javid Alyarli. The meeting focused on the expansion of political dialogue between the two nations.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussions included the strengthening of bilateral relations and the planning of upcoming visits. Opportunities for advancing political dialogue were also a significant topic of conversation.

Attention was given to EU-Azerbaijan relations, particularly in light of Lithuania's upcoming Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027. The Lithuanian Ambassador emphasized the nation's commitment to enhancing EU-Azerbaijan cooperation.

Additionally, the security situation and the situation in Ukraine were also on the agenda during the meeting.
