Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Agriculture, Majnun Mammadov, recently held a meeting with Marriyum Aurangzeb, a Senior Minister from the Government of Punjab, Pakistan. The discussions centered on enhancing agricultural cooperation between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Mammadov expressed that the relationship between Azerbaijan and Pakistan is rooted in mutual respect, trust, and support. He emphasized Azerbaijan's interest in expanding agricultural cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in the Punjab province, which is a major player in Pakistan's agricultural sector.

Minister Aurangzeb highlighted the friendly relations between the two countries and pointed out the significant potential for growth in agricultural collaboration. The meeting covered several key areas, including the strengthening of legal frameworks in agriculture, boosting trade in agricultural products, and promoting advanced agricultural technologies. Special attention was given to cooperation in cotton and rice production, livestock breeding, and the development of internship and exchange programs in agricultural research and education.

Discussions also included the export of Azerbaijani agricultural products to Pakistan and potential support mechanisms to facilitate this. Minister Mammadov underscored the importance of the annual Caspian Agro exhibition in Azerbaijan and extended an invitation to Pakistani business representatives to participate actively in the event.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the activities of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Working Group on agriculture and food security, aiming to further solidify the partnership between the two countries in this vital sector.
