Gusar: Azerbaijan and Russia recently convened the 29th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Russia Joint Commission to discuss the allocation of water resources from the Samur transboundary river. The meeting, held in Azerbaijan's Gusar district, was in line with the agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation on the cooperation for the efficient use and protection of the river's water resources.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting was co-chaired by Zakir Guliyev, representing Azerbaijan as the Co-Chair of the Joint Commission and Chairman of the Board of the Regional Water Reclamation Service under the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (ADSEA). From the Russian side, Vadim Nikonorov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Water Resources, served as Co-Chair. Representatives from various Azerbaijani institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, and the State Border Service, also participated.

The discussions focused on the allocation of the Samur river's water resources, monitoring practices, and joint operations of the Samur Hydrotechnical Complex. The meeting concluded with the determination of measures to be implemented, culminating in the signing of a final protocol.
