Baku: Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Pierre-Yves Fux, Assistant State Secretary and Head of the Eurasia Division at the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, on April 15 to hold political consultations. The meeting centered on the current state and future prospects of relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the officials engaged in discussions on a range of topics including bilateral political dialogue and cooperation in the areas of economy, trade, energy, and transport. The dialogue also included other issues of mutual interest, such as collaboration within international platforms and organizations. Switzerland's plans for its OSCE Chairmanship were also reviewed.
The discussions extended to regional and international security matters, focusing on the current post-conflict situation in the region. Azerbaijan's efforts to advance the peace agenda and its restoration and demining activities in its liberated territories were highlighted as part of the dialogue.
On the same day, another round of political consultations took place between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Switzerland. These consultations were led by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev and Switzerland's Assistant State Secretary Pierre-Yves Fux, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to strengthening bilateral relations.
