Baku: Azerbaijan and Tajikistan are exploring avenues to strengthen their cooperation in the realm of industrial property protection. Sanan Tapdigov, a Member of the Board of Azerbaijan's Intellectual Property Agency, recently met with a delegation from Tajikistan's Ministry of Economic Development and Trade to discuss these efforts.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting was part of the ongoing implementation of the 'Agreement on cooperation in the field of industrial property protection between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan' signed in 2024. During the meeting, Tapdigov provided insights into the activities and reforms undertaken by Azerbaijan's Intellectual Property Agency, which include the 'Open Target for Patents, Trademarks' (PANAH) digital information system and the 'open registers' for inventions, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, and geographical indications.
Rajabzoda Parviz, Deputy Director of Tajikistan's State Institution 'National Center for Patents and Information', emphasized the Center's key priorities and activities. He stressed the importance of collaboration with Azerbaijan's Intellectual Property Agency, noting that it offers valuable opportunities for personnel training, exchange of expertise, and the implementation of joint projects.
The discussions also covered topics such as cooperation in intellectual property protection, organizing training programs for experts, and enhancing information exchange between the two nations.
