Azerbaijan and Trkiye Commit to Strengthening Military Security

Baku: President Ilham Aliyev approved the "Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Trkiye on strengthening mutual military security."

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the document, which consists of eight articles, obliges the participating states to provide mutual assistance in exercising the right to individual and collective self-defense, as recognized by Article 51 of the UN Charter, in the event that one of the parties is subjected to armed aggression.

The memorandum stipulates that the parties will provide military assistance upon request and in accordance with relevant national legislation. The agreement also outlines plans for enhancing information exchange and collaboration in military intelligence, sharing information obtained in the field of military security, and utilizing this information during joint operations.
