Baku: Azerbaijan and Trkiye have initiated discussions to enhance their cooperation in religious affairs. On December 23, Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of Azerbaijan's State Committee on Affairs with Religious Associations, held a meeting with a Turkish delegation led by Safi Arpagus, Head of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting celebrated the friendly, brotherly, and strategically allied relations between the two nations across various sectors. The officials underscored the significance of exchanging expertise in state-religion relations and emphasized enhancing bilateral collaboration.
Mammadov highlighted the forthcoming 2nd Forum of Azerbaijani Religious Figures in Baku as a vital opportunity for bolstering religious solidarity, promoting a healthy religious perspective, and developing state-religion relations grounded in constitutional principles.
Safi Arpagus conveyed his optimism about the continued development of cooperation between the relevant institutions of Azerbaijan and Trkiye. The meeting also touched upon other mutual concerns.
