Azerbaijan and UAE Foreign Ministers Discuss Strategic Partnership and Future Cooperation

Abu dhabi: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting in Abu Dhabi with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the discussions focused on expanding the Azerbaijan-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership across various sectors, including political, economic, trade, energy, and humanitarian areas.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting also covered cooperation within regional and international organizations and addressed the current security situation in the region. Both ministers emphasized the significance of mutual visits by their respective heads of state and the agreements and documents signed during those visits in strengthening bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership level.

The implementation of agreements from the first meeting of the Cooperation Committee on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, held last November, was reviewed, and preparations for the second meeting in Baku this year were discussed. The importance of ongoing mutual support within regional and international frameworks was highlighted.

Minister Bayramov provided insights into the peace agenda that followed the August 8 Washington summit. The positive trajectory of Azerbaijan-UAE relations was acknowledged, with discussions on facilitating travel for citizens of both countries and exploring additional collaborative efforts.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other mutual interests, underscoring the commitment to enhancing cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UAE.
