Shoigu Presents Documentary Collection Highlighting Azerbaijan’s Role in World War II

Moscow: A presentation of the series of collections "Republics - For the Front. 1941-1945" was held in Moscow, marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in World War II, APA's bureau in Moscow reports citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Russia.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the publications were prepared through joint efforts by the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Russian Historical Society, and the Russian State Humanitarian University. Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev was also present at the event.

During the presentation, Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, acknowledged the unparalleled contributions of the former USSR republics to the Victory in World War II. He particularly highlighted Azerbaijan's significant role and the historical heroism of Hazi Aslanov, an outstanding commander and twice Hero of the Soviet Union. In recognition of Azerbaijan's contributions, Shoigu presented Ambassador Mustafayev with a documentary collection titled "The Heroism of Azerbaijan during the Second World War."
