Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and U.S. Vice President James David Vance delivered press statements outlining the strategic partnership between their nations. The event marked a significant milestone in bilateral relations as both leaders discussed the newly signed Charter on Strategic Partnership.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev highlighted the strong relationship between Azerbaijan and the United States, expressing gratitude for the support from the Trump-Vance administration. He emphasized the significance of the Charter on Strategic Partnership, which was the result of six months of dedicated work following a historical meeting with President Trump in Washington. This partnership opens new avenues for cooperation, including security, energy, and defense sales, while also promoting peace in the Caucasus region.
Vice President Vance reciprocated by acknowledging Azerbaijan's contributions in global efforts, particularly highlighting their support in Afghanistan. He underscored the importance of the peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, facilitated by U.S. leadership, which aims to foster economic cooperation and prevent future conflicts. Vance announced the U.S. plan to provide Azerbaijan with new boats for territorial water protection and praised the Trump Road for International Peace and Prosperity, a transportation corridor connecting Asia and Europe.
