Baku: The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (AZSTAND), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Control Over Consumer Market, has approved the ‘National Standardization Program for 2026-2028.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft program was developed in accordance with the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan ‘On Standardization,’ as well as the ‘Rules for the Formation of the National Standardization Program and Making Amendments to It.’ This initiative was approved by Decision No. 285 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 27, 2024, taking into account the relevant opinions and proposals of more than 50 public and private institutions.

The program encompasses a wide range of sectors including services, tourism, environment, occupational safety and health, and metrology and testing. It also covers mechanical and hydraulic systems, energy and electrical engineering, information technologies and telecommunications, transport and transport infrastructure, jewelry, packaging, textile and leather technology, food and agriculture, chemical technology, and minerals and mining industry. Further areas include oil and related technologies, metallurgy and mechanical engineering, wood and furniture technology, glass and ceramics industry, rubber and plastics industry, paper and cardboard, paint and coatings, non-ferrous paint industry, construction materials, construction and civil engineering, and children’s goods, among other important strategic sectors.
