A meeting of the fourth Congress of the World Azerbaijanis was held in Baku June 4.
The Congress’s documents were adopted. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev was elected head of the Coordinating Council.
The participants of the fourth Congress of the World Azerbaijanis made an appeal to President Aliyev. The participants expressed gratitude to President Aliyev for the attention and support in organizing the Congress.
According to the appeal, the Congress will lay the foundation for a new stage in the history of the Azerbaijani diaspora and contribute to the further strengthening of national unity and solidarity.
It was also stressed that Azerbaijan has become a leading country in the region.
According to the appeal, the important international events, annually held in Azerbaijan, clearly demonstrate that as a supporter of security, stability and peace, Azerbaijan has become an important country where the topical issues are discussed.
The participants support President Aliyev’s efforts and initiatives on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement.
It was also stated that all opportunities will be used for solidarity of the Azerbaijanis worldwide in the name of ensuring the national interests of the motherland, preserving and promoting the country’s national and cultural heritage.
