Azerbaijan Condemns Burning of Turkish Flag in Armenia

Baku: Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation following the burning of Turkey's flag during a torchlight procession in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on April 23. The event has sparked significant diplomatic tensions between the neighboring countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the ministry released a statement expressing its disapproval of the incident, emphasizing that the Armenian government should have taken preventive measures against such actions, which they described as embodying ethnic hatred. The statement criticized Armenia for failing to act, allowing what they termed as unacceptable acts to occur under the guise of democratic norms and freedoms.

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry further highlighted the need for international condemnation and prevention of such acts, which they view as a manifestation of a revanchist and ethnic hatred-based fascist mindset within Armenia. The incident has underscored the ongoing tensions in the region and the need for diplomatic engagement to address these sensitive issues.
