Tirana: Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler Islam Bazarganov has successfully reached the final of the European Championships, taking place in the Albanian capital. Bazarganov will compete for the gold medal in the men's 57kg weight class, showcasing his skills on this prestigious platform.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan is represented at the European Championships by a team of 25 wrestlers. The team has already seen success, with Greco-Roman wrestlers Hasrat Jafarov (67kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82kg) winning titles. Additionally, Nihat Mammadli (60kg), Rashad Mammadov (55kg), and Islam Abbasov (87kg) have secured bronze medals. In the women's category, Gunay Gurbanova achieved a commendable third place in the 59kg weight class.

The European Championships in Tirana will continue until April 26, providing a stage for wrestlers from across Europe to demonstrate their prowess and compete for top honors.
