Azerbaijan’s income from the operation of main pipelines in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 879 million 298.9 thousand manats ($517.2 million at the current exchange rate), which is 7.2% higher than the same period in 2021 .

According to the Azerbaijani government, revenues from the operation of main oil pipelines, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC), amounted to 309 million 395.3 thousand manats ($182 million). Compared to January-March 2021, the amount of such income decreased by 10.6%.

In the first quarter of 2022, losses in the main oil pipeline network amounted to 0.6 thousand tons against 0.8 thousand tons in the same period last year.

Revenues from the operation of Azerbaijan’s main gas pipelines, including the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum), amounted to 569 million 903.6 thousand manats ($335.2 million). Growth compared to January-March last year amounted to 20.4%.

Losses in the network of main gas pipelines in the first quarter amounted to 13.1 mcm against the figure for the same period last year 14.3 mcm (a decline of 8.4%).

In January-March 2022, 8 million 642.5 thousand tons of oil were transported through the main oil pipelines (a decrease by 3.4%), gas pipelines – 10 billion 769.6 mcm of gas (an increase by 9.7%).

At the same time, in the total volume of oil pumped through the main oil pipelines, about 77.2% was transported through the BTC pipeline, and in the volume of gas pumped through the main gas pipelines, 46.7% fell on the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum.

Azerbaijan’s income from the operation of main pipelines in 2021 amounted to 3 billion 49.505 million manats (an increase of 31.2%). At the same time, income from the operation of main oil pipelines amounted to 1 billion 197 million 649.8 thousand manats (an increase of 6.3%), main gas pipelines – 1 billion 851 million 856 thousand manats (an increase of 54.7%).
