Azerbaijan Highlights Transport Sector Innovations at Corporate Partnership Board Week in France

Paris: The Corporate Partnership Board Week, organized by the International Transport Forum (ITF), commenced in France with a focus on sustainable transport systems. Young Tae Kim, Secretary-General of the ITF, addressed the opening ceremony, highlighting the importance of partnerships in shaping future transport networks. He praised Azerbaijan for its commitment to enhancing global connectivity during its presidency of the Forum.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to France, Leyla Abdullayeva, underscored the country's initiatives within the ITF presidency framework. She noted the preparation of a policy recommendation on digital connectivity and urban transport development. Abdullayeva emphasized Azerbaijan's active participation in global platforms and its growing contributions to ITF research platforms.

Alish Ismayilov, an expert at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, remarked on the multifaceted nature of contemporary sustainable transport. He pointed out that effective transport systems rely on management, coordination, information, and trust, in addition to infrastructure. Ismayilov highlighted the coordinated operations of various transport modes in Azerbaijan, mentioning the establishment of the Coordinating Council on Transit Freight and the creation of AZCON Holding as key mechanisms.

Azerbaijan also actively participated in the panel session titled 'Governance of Sustainable Transport' during the event. This involvement underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to enhancing dialogue and cooperation in shaping the future of transport.
