Tabriz: Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh visited the cities of Tabriz and Julfa in East Azerbaijan Province to assess the progress on the Araz Corridor, as reported by the Cabinet of Ministers to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the visit was part of Mustafayev’s itinerary in Tehran, where he met with Governor Bahram Sarmast. The discussions highlighted the strategic importance of East Azerbaijan Province in fostering economic and trade ties between Azerbaijan and Iran.

During the visit, Mustafayev and Sadegh, who are also co-chairs of the Iran-Azerbaijan State Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Cooperation, evaluated the progress of the Aghbend-Kelaleh highway bridge and the Julfa-Kelaleh road, integral components of the Araz Corridor project. They assessed the ongoing construction and expansion efforts on site.

The officials also explored potential sites and reviewed existing infrastructure for the planned Ordubad-Siyahrud bridge, inspecting the designated area to ensure alignment with project goals.
