Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency Announces New Tram Line to Enhance Connectivity


Baku: The Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency has revealed plans to introduce a new tram line that will connect the residential areas of Mehdiabad and Binagadi with the “28 May” metro station, aiming to improve public transport access for residents. Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), made the announcement during a meeting focused on transport issues.



According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Rzayev highlighted the lack of metro and railway access in the Baku areas of Mehdiabad and Sea Breeze. To address this, a tram line will be laid from Sea Breeze, linking it to the Pirshaghi station, with plans to establish a hub there. Furthermore, a tram line from the Mehdiabad-Binagadi direction is set to connect with the “28 May” metro station, enhancing service for passengers in these regions.
