Azerbaijan Leads Oil Supply to Italy, Says President Aliyev

Baku: Azerbaijan ranks first in terms of oil supply to Italy, as stated by President Ilham Aliyev during the inauguration of the first campus of the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku. Azerbaijan also holds the second position in the Italian market for gas supply.

According to Trend News Agency, President Aliyev expressed confidence that Italy will become Azerbaijan’s primary partner in the education sector, citing the successes of the newly operational university. He noted that hundreds of students are currently enrolled, with an international team of professors from Italy and Azerbaijan, as well as foreign students, contributing to a dynamic academic atmosphere. Aliyev emphasized that students and graduates of the university will play a pivotal role in fostering Azerbaijani-Italian relations. He highlighted that Azerbaijani students attending this university will have stronger connections with Italy, gaining deeper insights into its culture and advancements.

President Aliyev also mentioned that the establishment of the university aims to bolster human resource capacity for Azerbaijan’s economy. He underscored the importance of addressing educational improvements and aligning with progressive education systems. Additionally, he noted that the initiative will enhance Azerbaijan’s friendly relations with Italy, a key European Union member. Aliyev concluded by reflecting on the positive outcomes of strategic and well-considered actions.
