Azerbaijan Marks Eid al-Fitr with Nationwide Celebrations

Baku: Eid al-Fitr is being celebrated in Azerbaijan, APA reports. The month of Ramadan, which began on February 19 in the country, has now come to an end, ushering in the festivities of Eid al-Fitr. These celebrations follow the observance of Laylat al-Qadr nights, which occurred on March 8, 10, 12, and 16. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the tradition of Eid prayer will continue this year, with prayers scheduled at 08:00 in some mosques and at 09:00 in others. The Council of Qadis has issued a Fatwa recommending that individuals who are financially able should contribute 10-15 manats per person as zakat al-fitr, an essential practice during this festive period. Additionally, the country is enjoying an extended period of non-working days from March 20 to March 30, as these dates coincide with both the Novruz and Eid al-Fitr holidays. This break allows families and communities to fully embrace and partake in the joyous celebrations marking the end of Ramadan.
