Azerbaijan Participates in CIS Hydrometeorology Session

Bishkek: A delegation from Azerbaijan's National Hydrometeorological Service took part in the 37th Session of the CIS Interstate Council for Hydrometeorology, which was recently held in the Kyrgyz Republic. The session provided a platform to share insights on Azerbaijan's advancements in hydrometeorology, including reforms, modernization of the observation network, the development of an Early Warning System, and initiatives to boost international collaboration.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event was attended by leaders of hydrometeorological services from CIS countries and representatives from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO). Participants engaged in discussions aimed at harmonizing hydrometeorological observations, standardizing data exchange, strengthening regional cooperation, and the application of modern technologies in the field.

The decisions anticipated at the end of the session are expected to play a crucial role in enhancing hydrometeorological security across the CIS region and improving the management of risks associated with climate change.
