The 14th meeting of the Conference of General Directors of the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD) has commenced in Astana, Kazakhstan, marking the 70th anniversary of the organization. Representatives from around 30 countries, including Azerbaijan, China, Russia, Georgia, Hungary, Vietnam, Poland, and South Korea, are participating in this significant event.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting's agenda is focused on evaluating the outcomes of the work accomplished within the OSJD. Participants are set to discuss the advancement of cargo and passenger transportation, as well as improvements in infrastructure, digitization, and personnel training. The gathering aims to address key decisions concerning the development of international transit, synchronization of transport corridors, and enhancing the efficiency of transport across Eurasia.

The OSJD, established in 1956, has a primary objective of developing internati onal cargo and passenger transportation. It also seeks to create a unified railway transport area in the Euro-Asian Region, boost the competitiveness of transcontinental railway routes, and foster technological progress through scientific and technical cooperation in the railway transport sector.
