Baku: Azerbaijan forecasts 4.8 percent inflation for next year, as reflected in the Ministry of Finance’s “Statement on the initial indicators of the state and consolidated budgets of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026”, APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, inflation is projected to be 4.5%, 4.3%, and 4.2% for the years 2027, 2028, and 2029, respectively. The statement noted that inflation forecasts for 2025-2026 were slightly lowered due to weak global demand for trade goods in developing countries. However, inflation forecasts have been significantly revised upwards in developed countries, particularly in the United States.
The International Monetary Fund’s July 2025 report estimated global inflation at 4.2 percent for the current year, a slight decrease from the previous forecast of 4.3 percent. The IMF also maintained its 3.6 percent inflation forecast for 2026, which remains below the 5.6 percent figure projected for 2024.
