Baku: Azerbaijan’s revenues from the transportation of freight via main gas pipelines reached 1,359,156.6 thousand manats from January to June this year, nearly matching the figures reported for the same period in the previous year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee highlighted that the revenue for the first half of 2024 was slightly higher at 1,359,813 thousand manats.

During the first half of 2023, Azerbaijan transported 20,260.5 million cubic meters of gas through its main pipelines, marking a 1.4% decrease compared to the same timeframe last year. Notably, 55.5% of the total gas was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline, which is responsible for exporting gas from the Shah Deniz gas-condensate field. This pipeline saw the delivery of 11,235.7 million cubic meters of gas, a 1.6% drop from the previous year.

For context, in 2024, Azerbaijan’s revenues from freight transportation via main gas pipelines amounted to 2,707,608.8 thousand manats, reflecting a 7.6% increase on an annual basis. Last year’s total gas transportation volume through Azerbaijan’s main pipelines was 40,348.3 million cubic meters, representing a 2.7% rise from the prior year. Of this, 56.6% was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum South Caucasus pipeline, which delivered 22,851.9 million cubic meters of gas, a 4.3% increase compared to the reporting period of the previous year.
