Baku – Trade between Azerbaijan and Russia saw a significant increase in the first seven months of 2024, surpassing $2.5 billion.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the trade turnover reached $2 billion 572.8 million, marking an increase of 5.2% or $127.5 million compared to the same period last year. While Azerbaijan’s exports to Russia decreased by 7.8% to $656 million 46 thousand, imports from Russia grew by 10.6% to $1 billion 916.7 million. Russia remains the leading destination for Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports, which primarily included fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes, apples, hazelnuts, cherries, strawberries, dates, as well as fruit juices and propylene copolymers in their primary form. Between January and July 2024, non-oil exports to Russia totaled $641 million 87 thousand. This trade accounted for 9.57% of Azerbaijan’s total trade turnover, which reached $26 billion 892 million, with non-oil exports totaling $1 billion 874.7 million.
