Baku: Azerbaijan’s fruit and vegetable export revenues increased by 10% during the first two months of this year. The State Customs Committee reported that the country exported 100,399 tons of fruits and vegetables valued at USD 108 million 999 thousand in January and February.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this marks an increase of 9.6% in volume and 15.3% in value compared to the same period last year. The revenue from these exports constituted 2.29% of Azerbaijan’s total exports and 22.47% of its non-oil exports during the two months.
In the same period, Azerbaijan imported 88,057 tons of fruits and vegetables worth USD 65 million 977 thousand. This represents a 4.5% increase in volume but a 3.8% decrease in value compared to the previous year. The import of fruits and vegetables made up 1.59% of the country’s total imports.
