Baku: Oil and land cargo transportation by sea in Azerbaijan experienced a significant increase of 17% in January-October 2025. Through the tankers and universal dry cargo ships of ‘Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company’ CJSC (ASCO), one of the AZCON Holding companies, a total of 4,838,499 tons of cargo were transported, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, 3,714,677 tons of the shipments were carried by tanker vessels, while 1,123,822 tons were transported by universal dry cargo ships. In the same period last year, these figures amounted to 3,410,939 tons and 724,627 tons, respectively. This reflects an increase of 8.9 percent in liquid cargo transportation and 55.1 percent in dry cargo transportation.
Overall, the total volume of ASCO’s liquid and dry cargo transportation increased by approximately 17 percent compared to the same period last year.
