Baku: Azerbaijan imported about 75,000 cars this year from January to August 2025, totaling 74,481 vehicles valued at 1 billion 381 million 385 thousand US dollars, as reported by the State Customs Committee to APA-Economics. This marks a notable increase compared to the same period in 2024.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the number of cars imported during the first eight months of 2024 was 58,939, with a total value of 1 billion 110 million 905 thousand US dollars. This indicates a 26.4% increase in the number of cars imported and a 24.3% rise in their total value in 2025.

Additionally, the report highlighted a decline in the import of vehicles powered solely by electric engines. During the reporting period in 2025, 1,412 electric vehicles were imported, representing a 28.4% decrease compared to the same timeframe the previous year.
