Baku: In January 2026, Azerbaijan manufactured a total of 1 billion 194 million cigarettes, marking a 38.1% increase compared to January of the previous year. The State Statistical Committee provided these figures, highlighting a notable rise in cigarette production.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, finished product inventories at industrial enterprises as of February 1 included 1 billion 264 million cigarette units. Additionally, during the same period, 49.9 tons of tobacco were produced, which represents a 66.8% decrease compared to January 2025.

In the previous year, Azerbaijan imported 225 million cigarettes, valued at $5.642 million. In contrast, the country exported 2 billion 959 million cigarettes, worth $46.635 million, to 11 countries in 2025.
