Baku: Azerbaijan has witnessed a sharp increase in the export of petroleum products during the first eight months of this year. The country exported 617,360.36 tons of petroleum products, which brought in a revenue of USD 466.75215 million, as reported by APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, calculations based on figures from the State Customs Committee reveal that the value of petroleum products exported by Azerbaijan rose twofold, while the volume experienced a 40.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This surge highlights Azerbaijan's growing role in the global petroleum market.

The Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery, established in 1953, plays a critical role in refining oil in Azerbaijan. It efficiently fulfills the domestic demand for petroleum products. The refinery is currently undergoing reconstruction and modernization to enhance its capabilities.

Armenia remains a part of the export geography for Azerbaijan's petroleum products, showcasing the country's expanding export reach in the region.
