Azerbaijan Sees Slight Increase in Money Remittances Amid Economic Changes

Baku: In the third quarter of 2025, the volume of money remittances received by Azerbaijan increased by 0.2% to USD 850 million. This announcement was made during a press conference at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, which focused on the balance of payments results for the first nine months of the year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the comparison with the corresponding period of 2024 shows a significant change. The volume of money remittances sent to Azerbaijan had decreased by 33.7% to USD 848.5 million during that time. It was noted that a significant portion of the remittances received by Azerbaijan in the recent quarter came from Russia, totaling USD 344 million. Other major contributors were Trkiye with USD 140 million, the United States with USD 74 million, the United Kingdom with USD 31 million, and the United Arab Emirates with USD 30 million.

In contrast, the volume of money remittances sent from Azerbaijan amounted to USD 361 million, marking an 11.5% decrease compared to the same period last year. The largest portion of these remittances was directed to Trkiye, with USD 104 million transferred. The United States received USD 55.8 million, Russia USD 34 million, the United Kingdom USD 20 million, and Georgia USD 19.8 million.
