Baku: Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Azerbaijan reached an impressive USD 4.7 billion during the third quarter of 2025. This was revealed at a press conference hosted by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, focusing on the balance of payments over the past nine months.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the United Kingdom emerged as the largest contributor to Azerbaijan’s FDI, with investments amounting to USD 1.243 billion. Other significant contributors included Trkiye, with USD 912 million, Cyprus with USD 543 million, Switzerland with USD 284 million, and Iran with USD 272 million.
Additionally, the data highlighted that during the same period, Azerbaijan’s outbound foreign direct investments amounted to USD 2.038 billion. This marks an increase compared to the first half of 2024, where the outbound investments were USD 1.3498 billion.
The primary destination for Azerbaijan’s foreign investments was Israel, where USD 542.6 million was directed towards the ‘Tamar’ gas field project. Other notable recipients were Trkiye, receiving USD 289 million, the United Arab Emirates with USD 250 million, the United Kingdom with USD 176 million, and Italy with USD 118 million.
