Azerbaijan Sees Surge in Tax Inquiry Volume, Majority Resolved Promptly


BAKU: Azerbaijan’s tax authorities have reported a significant rise in the number of taxpayer inquiries, reaching a total of 330,460 from January through September 2024. An overwhelming majority of these inquiries were applications, while a smaller proportion consisted of complaints and suggestions.

According to Trend News Agency, data from the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan revealed that 96 percent of the inquiries were applications, whereas complaints and suggestions accounted for only 3.9 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively. The authorities have been efficient in addressing these inquiries, with 97 percent of the appeals processed, and 95 percent of the resolved cases were accompanied by explanations or relevant actions under current legislation.

Furthermore, the State Tax Service officials have conducted 510 sessions to receive citizens, highlighting the agency’s commitment to engaging with the public and addressing their concerns. Only a small fraction of appeals, around 3 percent, remain under revi
