Davos: Azerbaijan is positioned as the sole reliable connection for Europe to Central Asia, stated President Ilham Aliyev. He addressed business representatives from multiple countries during the 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' an event at the World Economic Forum's annual meeting in Davos.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev emphasized Azerbaijan's significant role in the European Union's 'Global Gateway' project, designed to link Europe with Central Asia. He highlighted the country's substantial investment in transportation infrastructure, declaring that most of the necessary components are already in place. However, due to the rapid growth in cargo volume, Azerbaijan plans to expand the capacity of its Trade Sea Port.
The president also mentioned the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project, which aims to integrate Armenia into the regional transportation network of Central Asia. This initiative is expected to foster peace, as Armenia will benefit from tariff revenues and participate in broader international cooperation.
