Baku: On April 3, First Deputy Minister of Finance of the Republic of Azerbaijan Anar Karimov engaged in discussions with Serdar Yilmaz, Practice Manager for the Public Finance and Procurement Unit at the World Bank, and Ms. Stefanie Stallmeister, the Bank's Country Manager in Azerbaijan. The meeting focused on prospects for expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank, emphasizing measures in public financial management.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, A. Karimov highlighted Azerbaijan's commitment to its partnership with the World Bank, underscoring the significance of measures undertaken to improve the public financial management system. The support from the World Bank in enhancing this system is considered crucial for the effectiveness of ongoing reforms. A. Karimov also noted that recent reforms in monitoring state-owned enterprises aim to boost transparency and accountability, with plans to continue such measures.

S. Yilmaz expressed satisfaction with the enduring collaboration with Azerbaijan and praised the reforms in monitoring state-owned enterprises. He affirmed the World Bank's readiness to provide technical support in this area. The meeting also included discussions on potential technical assistance projects from the World Bank and the objectives of the State-Owned Enterprises Monitoring Agency.
