Azerbaijani Astrophysicist Engages in Research at NASA

Greenbelt: Famil Mustafa, an Azerbaijani astrophysicist and employee of the Nasreddin Tusi Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, is currently conducting scientific research at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in the United States. Mustafa also serves as the Director of the Tusi-Bohm Planetarium and is participating in this research under the international "SCOSTEP Visiting Scholar" (SVS) program.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the primary focus of the research is on Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) from the Sun and their impact on Earth. The research specifically examines the connection between these solar phenomena and geomagnetic activity on our planet.

Mustafa's work at NASA is seen as a significant contribution to expanding Azerbaijan's opportunities for international cooperation in solar-terrestrial physics and space weather.
