Azerbaijan Targets Non-Oil Sector Growth with New Export Initiatives

BAKU — In a strategic move to diversify its economy, Azerbaijan has launched several projects designed to boost non-oil exports, according to senior customs officials.

According to Trend News Agency, Bahruz Guliyev, the First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan, announced these initiatives at the Azerbaijan Trade Forum. The forum, themed "Opportunities, Current Situation, and Challenges for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)," provided a platform for discussing the enhancement of non-oil sectors.

"We have attained full automation of customs control and clearing processes," Guliyev stated. "In response to emerging challenges, we are now prioritizing the complete digitalization of customs services and the implementation of artificial intelligence-driven initiatives." These technological advancements are part of broader efforts to stimulate non-oil exports and attract foreign investments into the national economy.
