Baku: The import and sale of electric motor vehicles to Azerbaijan will be exempt from value-added tax (VAT) for a period of one year. This move is outlined in the draft law ‘On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.’

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, starting from January 1, 2026, the import and sale of vehicles powered solely by electric motors will be exempt from VAT for one year. This initiative is part of Azerbaijan’s broader efforts to promote sustainable energy and environmentally friendly transportation options within the country.
