Tashkent: An international scientific conference titled "14th Silk Road Meeting and 2nd Meeting of the Silk Road Astronomy Research and Education Alliance" recently took place at the New Uzbekistan University in Tashkent, gathering over 150 scientists and specialists from 33 countries. Azerbaijan was represented by Namig Jalilov, Director General of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the conference spanned five days and concentrated on the current challenges in astronomy and astrophysics, the future development of astronomical science in the region, and the potential for international collaboration, joint research initiatives, and scientific integration.

The event concluded with a unanimous decision by the participating scientists to convene the next Silk Road International Scientific Conference in Azerbaijan.
