Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia Meet to Discuss Military Cooperation

Tbilisi: While on a visit to Georgia, Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, met with Georgia's Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, Irakli Chikovani, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Defense Ministers participated in an official welcoming ceremony, during which they passed along the guard of honor. The ceremony included performances of the national anthems of both countries. Colonel General Zakir Hasanov highlighted the ongoing expansion and deepening of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Georgia, which mirrors the broader bilateral relations across various fields.

The meeting, attended by Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia, Faig Guliyev, featured extensive discussions on new prospects for cooperation in military, military-technical, and military educational spheres. Other issues of common interest were also addressed. During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation paid tribute at the Heroes Memorial in Tbilisi and at the monument to the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people in Heydar Aliyev Culture and Recreation Park by laying wreaths.
