BAKU: Member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have unanimously agreed to hold their next ministerial meeting in Azerbaijan. The decision was reached at the inaugural Meeting of Ministers in Charge of Science, Technology, Industry, and Innovation of the OTS.

According to Trend News Agency, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy, The gathering in Istanbul saw attendance from a prominent Azerbaijani delegation led by Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov. Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacir, welcomed the participants and expressed optimism that the discussions would fortify ties among member states. OTS Secretary General Kubanychbek Omuraliev highlighted the historical and cultural bonds that underpin the cooperation among Turkic states and expressed confidence in the meeting’s significance for future interactions.

During the event, Minister Jabbarov thanked Turkey for its hospitality and emphasized the importance of joint activities among Turkic states for mutu
al prosperity and sustainable development. He underscored Azerbaijan’s commitment to integration within the Turkic world and noted the meeting’s focus on advancing the non-oil industry, trade, investment, and digitalization efforts.

Jabbarov also discussed Azerbaijan’s strategic plans, including the ‘Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development’, which emphasizes environmental sustainability and ‘green’ technologies. He outlined initiatives for developing industrial zones in liberated territories and establishing investment funds to enhance economic development and stability among OTS members.

The meeting concluded with speeches from representatives of member states and the adoption of a joint declaration, marking a significant step in the collaborative efforts of the Organization of Turkic States.
