Baku: Azerbaijan will save 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas by 2030, said the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elnur Soltanov, at the public discussion on “Energy efficiency: results and expectations” held at the Milli Majlis’s (Azerbaijani Parliament) Committee on Natural Resources, Energy, and Ecology.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Deputy Minister highlighted that energy efficiency is viewed as one of the crucial energy sources. Elnur Soltanov stated, “By 2030, we will save approximately 1.5 billion cubic meters of gas. We will achieve this by modernizing pipelines. This is good news for the population, as it means cheaper energy.”
Elnur Soltanov also emphasized that the country is not holding back from exporting natural gas. He explained that natural gas, being a decarbonizing energy source, remains on the agenda, and Azerbaijan is working to assist several European Union countries, including Trkiye, in reaching their decarbonization objectives through gas exports.
