World Bank Predicts Azerbaijan’s Budget Surplus for Next Five Years

Baku: Azerbaijan’s state budget is expected to remain in surplus from 2025 through 2029, according to the World Bank forecast, as reported by APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the World Bank’s analysts have outlined that the share of the state budget surplus in the country’s GDP will be 2.0% this year. The surplus is projected to gradually decrease over the following years, reaching 0.6% in 2026, 0.5% in 2027, and stabilizing at 0.4% from 2028 to 2029.

The World Bank also anticipates that Azerbaijan’s budget revenues will constitute between 32% and 34.5% of GDP, while budget expenditures will range from 22.8% to 23.3% during the same period. This forecast highlights the expectation of stable budget expenditures despite a predicted decline in revenues, which influences the surplus outlook.
