Baku: Azerbaijan has achieved the fastest internet speed in the South Caucasus, according to the latest Speedtest Global Index ranking. In June, Azerbaijan ranked first in the region and 46th globally among 98 countries, boasting an average mobile internet speed of 98.61 Mbps. By comparison, Georgia ranked 17th and Armenia placed 61st. The United Arab Emirates recorded the highest mobile internet speed globally at 672.87 Mbps.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, in fixed broadband rankings, Azerbaijan secured the 84th position out of 149 countries, with an average speed of 92.18 Mbps. Meanwhile, Armenia was closely behind at 85th with 91.69 Mbps, and Georgia lagged at 107th with a speed of 50.83 Mbps. Singapore emerged as the leader in fixed broadband speed worldwide, achieving 447.75 Mbps.
