Azerbaijani and Iranian Foreign Ministers Discuss Regional Tensions Over Phone

Baku: A telephone conversation took place today between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the discussion centered around the ongoing military operations in Iran and the resulting situation from the military escalation in the region. The Iranian Foreign Minister provided an update on the current circumstances and the actions being taken in response.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov expressed serious concern regarding the tragic escalation in the region. He relayed condolences from the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, for the loss of innocent civilian lives. Both ministers expressed hope that military operations would cease soon, advocating for the resolution of the situation through dialogue and diplomatic channels, in line with international law.

Furthermore, it was highlighted that Azerbaijan's territory cannot be used against Iran, maintaining the stance of mutual respect and friendship. The conversation also included exchanges on other mutual interests between the two nations.
