Baku: Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Land Forces, Colonel General Hikmat Mirzayev, held a meeting with Army General Metin Tokel, the Commander of the Land Forces of the Republic of Trkiye, during a visit to Azerbaijan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting commenced with a tribute ceremony where flowers were laid before the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. The ceremony included a moment of silence to honor the memory of the National Leader and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland.

An official welcoming ceremony featured the Commanders walking past a guard of honor, and the National Anthems of both Azerbaijan and Trkiye were performed.

In their discussions, the leaders exchanged views on the current state and future expansion of Azerbaijani-Turkish military cooperation. They emphasized the significance of joint and international exercises in advancing the professionalism, knowledge, and skills of military personnel from both countries. Additionally, they addressed various issues of mutual interest.
